And inventor Hoyle Pounds operated his Case tractor dealership on Plant Street starting in 1926, where he developed the rubber tractor tire that replaced the old spiked metal wheels.

The devastating freezes of the 1980s hit the citrus industry hard, and Winter Garden went through a rough stretch. But since 2000, the downtown has been completely revitalized. Today, Plant Street is lined with award winning restaurants, craft breweries, boutiques, and art galleries. The West Orange Trail, a 22 mile paved path, runs right through the heart of downtown and brings thousands of cyclists, runners, and walkers through every week.
